This easy homemade Bolognese sauce recipe is one of my favorite dishes. Once you will try it too, you will never want to search for another one. Ever! And God saves your hearth from buying a Bolognese sauce in the grocery store, yuck. It contains too many ingredients which are not needed, especially a lot of refined sugar.
And why I am so damn confident? Because this recipe always turns out well, each time it tastes delicious, and my family loves it 🙂 So do I 🙂 To make it at home you need few basic ingredients, a good quality minced meat, and around 30 minutes of your time. Also, I skipped the wine which makes this recipe very suitable for kids. The wine definitely adds a specific taste to the real Bolognese but in my opinion, it is not mandatory. Anyhow, you will feel the taste without the wine once you will make it by yourself. 🙂

FAQ:
Bolognese sauce is known in Italian as Ragu alla Bolognese is a meat-based sauce coming from Bologna.
Bolognese sauce is based on red meat and wine while the spaghetti sauce (or Marinara sauce) is based on tomatoes and herbs.
The original Bolognese sauce is cooked for at least 4 hours.
There are few ways to thicken the Bolognese sauce. You can simmer it for very long time (t least 4 hours) on a low heat, or you can add 1-2 teaspoon of cornstarch into it. Although, both are effective I would always use the first one 🙂
Yes, of course. Place your sauce in an airtight containers and keep in the freezer for up to 3 months.
